Speed Snake
A pure time attack. You get exactly 60 seconds on a fast board, gold apples worth triple appear every fifth spawn, and the clock never pauses for your mistakes.

Snake against the clock
Speed Snake flips the usual goal. In classic snake the enemy is your own length and the game ends when you crash. Here the enemy is a 60 second timer, the pace is fixed and brisk from the first move, and a crash ends the run early - the ultimate waste of seconds. Survival is not the achievement; efficiency is.
Every fifth apple spawns as a gold diamond worth three points. Over a full minute those golds are the difference between an average run and a leaderboard-worthy one, so route planning becomes a value judgement: is the far-corner gold worth four seconds of travel, or do you farm two near apples instead?
Reading a good run
Strong players average an apple roughly every two seconds. That means tight cornering, no wasted parallel travel, and above all no deaths: dying with twenty seconds left costs you around ten apples of potential. If you are crashing in Speed Snake, slow your inputs; the board speed already supplies the adrenaline.
Three rules for a personal best
- Take the racing line. Turn before the apple, not at it, so you exit already pointed at the likely next spawn zone near the centre.
- Price the gold. A gold apple equals three normal ones. If it costs more than three apples of travel time, skip it.
- Stay short-snake minded. Your snake grows slowly in one minute. Do not play cautious long-snake patterns; cut through the middle constantly.
