Maze Snake
Five hand-built maze layouts stand between you and the apple. Clear ten apples and the whole labyrinth rearranges itself around your snake.
Keyboard: ↑↓←→ or WASD to steer, P pause, R restart, M mute. Touch: swipe or d-pad.
Snake meets labyrinth
Maze Snake adds interior walls to the classic formula and then refuses to let you get comfortable: every ten apples, the current maze dissolves and the next of five layouts takes its place. Bars, crossed rooms, columns, a broken frame and a zigzag gauntlet each demand a different driving style.
Walls in a snake game do something subtle - they turn open-field steering into corridor commitment. Enter a passage and you have promised the game your next several moves. With a short snake that promise is cheap. With a twenty-segment tail filling the corridor behind you, every entrance is a bet that the exit will still be clear.
The five layouts
- Bars: two horizontal walls with central gaps. Learn to feather through the gaps at speed.
- Rooms: a broken cross divides the board into four chambers. Do not linger in one room too long.
- Columns: three vertical ribs with slots. The rhythm layout: weave, eat, weave back.
- Frame: a broken square inside the arena. The inner ring is fast but claustrophobic.
- Zigzag: staggered teeth and side walls. Patience wins; greed dies in the teeth.
Surviving the rotation
The maze never changes mid-corridor without warning: rotations happen exactly on the tenth apple, and new walls never spawn on top of your snake. Count your apples and, at eight or nine, move to open ground so the new layout arrives while you have room to read it.
